Well then there is the alternative of studying abroad for the degree. You necessarily do not have to be affording to be able to study in a foreign country. If you have good grades you can apply for a scholarship or a loan. The best universities are present in the UK, USA & Australia. A few names that come to mind are The University of London (UK) , MIT(USA), Harvard University (USA), The Queensland University of Technology (AUS), McGill University (Canada), UMIST (UK), etc.
The problems faced by most students are that how they will shift into the new atmosphere, will they be discriminated against racially? How will they live? Do they need to work ? and lots of other questions.
The part of choosing a university
depends on what you want to do and where you want to go. The best universities are in the
US but they are very expensive. If you want a recognised degree in a reasonable
price then Australia is the best hunting ground for those universities. It is not
neccessary that you get admission in any university you apply for even if your HSC result
is par excellence. The universities are not only looking for people who have good
grades but extra curricular activities are also encouraged.
If you have done GCE A' Levels than you
will little or no problem to get into foreign universities, but if you have done F.Sc.
then you will be asked to attend a one year course and may have some other difficulties.
